Community Alliance Project

Marginalia Rare Books is committed to preserving and centering the histories of marginalized people. Equally importantly, we are committed to contributing towards these communities’ present and future flourishing.

To that end, our Community Alliance Project launched in 2025 with the promise of donating a portion of proceeds from select lists to grassroots organizations existing within, run by, and for the benefit of members of those groups themselves. We firmly believe that these groups should have the resources they need, and that they are best equipped to make decisions about how to deploy the funds and materials they raise.

Community Alliance lists will always be clearly marked as such (on the list itself, as well as with *CAP* in our Lists section), and the organization to which we will be donating proceeds will be clearly disclosed. These organizations’ contact information will also be linked so that those who cannot or have not purchased from the list can still locate, learn about, engage with, and potentially provide their own support to these missions.

As Marginalia grows, we aspire for Community Alliance to continue expanding and evolving to fund additional projects and to partner with artists, writers, and community organizers across these groups.
